Sporting Events

Nothing beats the emotional rollercoaster of watching live sporting events.

Here in Queensland you can be courtside, ringside, poolside or field-side to witness the world's best athletes and players.

And there’s a blockbuster year ahead, as we welcome the world’s top tennis players for ATP Cup and Brisbane International; NRL’s best for the All-Stars, Magic Round

Brisbane and State of Origin; watch our cricketers take wickets at ICC T20 World Cup; and cheer on the Wallabies in the Bledisloe Cup.

The Gold Coast will savour a splash of glam during Magic Millions, and then supercars will take over Surfers as the GC 600 returns.

Great sport can be seen across our state. See what’s on below!

Sports calendar

Our sports calendar kicks off with the Brisbane International in January and offers non-stop action through to the Australian PGA Championship in late November.

Rugby games

Queensland is home to the North Queensland Cowboys, Brisbane Broncos, Gold Coast Titans, and the Queensland Reds and we love our Rugby League and Rugby Union. Games are hosted across the state with the finals and cup matches held at the Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast or in Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium, which is also home to the annual Brisbane Global Rugby Tens tournament.

Cricket matches

When it comes to cricket, the best of best descends on Queensland and grace the cricket grounds of The Gabba every year. And following close behind, is their army of supporters and fans who create an infectious atmosphere. If you've never been to the cricket before, grab a ticket and flaunt your best costume.

Queenslands first grade teams are the Brisbane Lions and the Gold Coast Suns. Games are hosted at The Gabba in Brisbane or at the Metricon Stadium or the Carrara Stadium on the Gold Coast. Catch the electric action and watch as the stadium comes to life with a roaring crowd.

Home to the Brisbane Roar, you can catch home games at Suncorp Stadium and watch Queensland's best players take on national and international soccer teams.

Horse racing events

Watch thoroughbreds reach high speeds and back a winner at Queensland's most iconic horse racing events. Flaunt your race day outfit at the Brisbane Racing Carnival, witness horses race along the beach at The Magic Millions Carnival on the Gold Coast, or bring your craziest costume to the Birdsville Races in the Outback.
