Conservation Volunteers Australia Townsville - Beach Scrub Conservation

Pallarenda, Townsville Area

Weekly from 22 – 23 October 2020 -

Free Entry

Conservation Volunteers believes in a healthy and sustainable environment, and for everyone to be involved in managing and protecting that environment. We offer volunteer opportunities in and around the Townsville region that connect people to nature and contribute to improving and protecting native habitats.

The beach scrub project aims to promote conservation of beach scrub semi-evergreen vine thickets, an endangered ecosystem that’s crucial for reducing erosion and preserving strong ecological diversity. You will be involved in weed identification and removal, photo monitoring and removal of marine debris from beaches.

Join the team and explore areas up and down the coast from Townsville. You will get to see out of the way places while helping to preserve these unique habitats.

Projects run most Thursdays and Fridays and depart from our office in Pallarenda at 7:00 am returning no later than 2:00 pm.

If you're interested in more conservation projects, check out our website. We occasionally run family friendly weekend events like tree plantings and beach clean ups or, for the more adventurous, there are monthly camping trips to beautiful, remote locations.
