From theatre to fashion to art exhibitions, Queensland has some serious showstoppers. 

We celebrate art in all forms: on stage, in galleries – even sculpture on the beach. You can also catch world-class touring exhibitions and shows at our performing arts centres, museums local theatres and other venues.

Cultural Heart of Brisbane

South Bank is Brisbane’s cultural beating heart, with the Gallery of Modern Art, Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Museum and Queensland Performing Arts Centre all within metres of each other. The precinct also includes the renowned Streets Beach, cafes, restaurants and weekend markets. 

Queensland Art Galleries and Museums

From fashion exhibitions to interactive displays and historical artefacts, you’ll find art, history and culture in galleries and museums across the state. Be sure to visit these places for upcoming exhibitions and shows: 

  • The South Bank Cultural Precinct (Gallery of Modern Art, Queensland Art Gallery and the Queensland Museum) 
  • The Arts Centre Gold Coast
  • The Janbal Gallery in Mossman showcasing Indigenous artwork 
  • Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery

The Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) in Brisbane is the primary venue for touring musical and theatrical productions. With four stages; Lyric Theatre, Playhouse, Cremorne Theatre and Concert Hall, QPAC regularly hosts plays, the ballet, opera and broadway shows all year round.

Woodford Folk Festival

Jungle Love Festival

Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival

1770 Festival

UPDATE: unfortunately the difficult decision has been made to cancel the 1770 Festival in 2020. The team have been planning for this historical 250th commemorative event for many years and are saddened that their efforts will not come to fruition this year.
