Birdsville Races

Birdsville's busiest week of the year happens the first Friday and Saturday in September. Visitors take over this tiny outback town from all parts of Australia and the world for the Annual Birdsville Racing Carnival

Hughenden Campdraft 2019

Normally held on the second Sunday of each month, the Taroom Markets line the grounds of Leichhardt Road on Yaldwyn Street, Taroom. This is where you’ll find those unexpected gems, the funky hand tooled or crafted specialties, homemade treats, jams and sauces, candles and scents, organic fruit and vegetables.

Cobb & Co Festival

The Cobb and Co Festival is a unique family-friendly weekend that celebrates the history of the last Cobb and Co coach run in Australia. Running from 14 to 22 August 2019, the festival includes live entertainment, markets, camp oven dinner, bush dance and a reenactment of a horse-drawn coach and trail riders travelling the 76 kilometre Cobb and Co Way from Surat to Yuleba in South West Queensland.

Simpson Desert Ultra

On Saturday 16 November 2019 Qantas will mark its 99th birthday. On this day the Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited, QANTAS, was registered as a company in Brisbane. Qantas went on to set up operations and mail routes through Western Queensland and the Northern Territory.
